Ultraviolet light technology, the same technology used in hospitals for sanitizing, is capable of eradicating microorganisms, mold spores and viral contaminants from the air. It is recommended that you leave the Germ Guardian® UV-C Room Air Sanitizer running continuously. A replaceable UV-C light bulb and filter will last approximately 5000 hours -approximately 6 - 8 months of continuous use.
Over time, with use the UV-C bulb will lose some intensity approximately 15% at 6000 hours, therefore it is suggested to replace the UV-C light bulb when the bulb begins to flicker or turn orange.
